Our Commitment to AI Transparency
BodybuildingProTips.com uses artificial intelligence in several ways to enhance your experience. We believe you have the right to know exactly how AI is used on this platform, what it can and cannot do, and how to interpret AI-generated outputs. This policy explains each AI feature in plain language.
1. AI Movement Scanner (Form Analysis)
What it does
The Movement Scanner accepts video uploads or live camera feeds of you performing exercises. It uses a large multimodal AI model to analyze your movement patterns and provide structured feedback on form, technique, safety cues, and improvement tips.
What it does NOT do
The Movement Scanner is not a medical device. It does not diagnose injuries, assess pain, provide rehabilitation guidance, or replace the judgment of a qualified personal trainer, physical therapist, or sports medicine professional. It cannot detect all form errors, and its feedback may not apply to your specific anatomy, injury history, or training goals.
Accuracy limitations
AI form analysis is probabilistic. The model may miss subtle technique errors, misidentify exercises, or provide feedback that does not apply to your specific situation. Video quality, camera angle, lighting, and clothing all affect accuracy. Always cross-reference AI feedback with qualified human coaching before making significant changes to your training.
Data handling
Videos and images submitted to the Movement Scanner are processed transiently. Raw video files are not stored after analysis is complete. Analysis results (text feedback) are saved to your account for your reference and are retained for 12 months.
2. AI Food Scanner (Macro Estimation)
What it does
The Food Scanner accepts photos of food plates or meals. It uses a large multimodal AI model to identify foods in the image and estimate macronutrient content (protein, carbohydrates, fats, and total calories).
What it does NOT do
The Food Scanner is not a clinical nutrition tool. It does not provide medically accurate nutritional analysis. It cannot account for exact portion sizes, cooking methods, ingredient variations, or hidden ingredients. It is not suitable for use by individuals with medical conditions that require precise dietary management (such as diabetes, kidney disease, or eating disorders) without supervision from a registered dietitian.
Accuracy limitations
Macro estimates are approximations only. Accuracy varies significantly based on image quality, portion visibility, food complexity, and the model's training data. Estimates may be off by 20–50% or more for complex meals, mixed dishes, or foods with variable preparation methods. Do not use these estimates as the sole basis for medical dietary decisions.
Data handling
Food photos submitted to the Food Scanner are processed transiently. Raw image files are not stored after analysis is complete. Macro estimates and food logs are saved to your account and retained for 12 months.
3. Swarm Network (AI Community Engagement)
What it is
The Swarm Network is an AI-powered system that generates synthetic community engagement for articles published on BodybuildingProTips.com. It creates fictional personas — each with a distinct name, background, and personality — that simulate how a diverse community of fitness enthusiasts might react to, discuss, and share content.
What it is NOT
Swarm-generated engagement does not represent real users. The personas are entirely fictional constructs. The likes, shares, comments, and reactions generated by the Swarm Network are not from real people who have read the article. They are AI-generated simulations intended to model potential community response and create a more engaging reading experience.
Disclosure on articles
Wherever Swarm-generated engagement is displayed on an article page, you will see the disclosure: "Reactions include AI-simulated community responses." This disclosure is always visible and is not hidden or minimized.
Persona design
Swarm personas are designed to represent a diverse range of fitness backgrounds, experience levels, and perspectives. They are assigned names, ages, and backgrounds for realism, but these are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is coincidental.
Purpose
The Swarm Network is used to: (a) simulate community discussion on new articles before organic engagement develops; (b) model how different audience segments might respond to content; and (c) create a more dynamic and engaging article experience. It is not used to deceive users about the popularity of content or to manufacture false social proof for commercial purposes.
4. AI-Generated Blog Content
Some articles on BodybuildingProTips.com are generated or assisted by AI writing tools. AI-assisted articles are reviewed for accuracy before publication. All articles — whether human-written or AI-assisted — are subject to the same editorial standards. AI-generated content is not labeled differently from human-written content at this time, as the editorial review process is applied uniformly.
5. Progressive Overload Recommendations
The Workout Tracker uses algorithmic logic (not a large language model) to suggest progressive overload adjustments — specifically, recommending weight increases when you consistently hit the top of your rep range across all sets. These are rule-based suggestions, not personalized coaching. They do not account for fatigue, sleep, stress, or other recovery factors. Use your own judgment and adjust based on how you feel.
6. How to Provide Feedback on AI Features
If you believe an AI feature has produced inaccurate, harmful, or misleading output, please contact us at [email protected] with a description of the issue. We review all feedback and use it to improve our AI systems.
7. Changes to This Policy
We will update this AI Transparency Policy when we introduce new AI features or make material changes to existing ones. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
